The nostrils may need to be refined in some cases where they look uneven or bulky or in patients with a large flare. Different techniques have been used but the results were not really satisfying specially with the scarring and the operated look.

Dr. Abi Akl’s technique resides in doing incisions along the nasal base crease keeping the alar facial groove intact and without disturbing the sill or the nasal base. The incision is hidden and the scar is almost invisible. The procedure can be done at the same time of the rhinoplasty or separately. In this case, local anesthesia is enough.
