Chin Augmentation
This procedure helps better define the jawline and provide a sharper look for the neck and lower face.
Mentoplasty is done to project the chin so it fits the whole face. It can be done surgically using silicone implants or by doing some cuts in the chin bone, and non surgically, using fillers or fat injections. This procedure is performed equally for men and women and often is done in conjunction with rhinoplasty. Usually men have a strong and projected chin and women have a fine chin.
Chin implant surgery takes 45 minutes, and it is done under local anesthesia.
What about the recovery?
You should expect some swelling and bruising for couple of days and it will start to improve gradually over the next week. The stitches are removed in 5 to 7 days and you can go back to work in 10 days.
What about the scars?
The incision is placed in the submental crease. After you have completely healed, the scar will become barely visible.
